How to check your plan and usage
Settings → Plan & Usage shows what plan you are on, what it includes, and how much of your limits you have used.
Requirements
- Available on: All plans
- Roles: Owner only
Usage warnings and upgrade prompts are shown to the Owner only. Viewers and other roles never see them.
What the page shows
Your current plan and the capabilities it carries.
Usage against limits, with warnings at 80%.
| Limit | Nova | Orbit | Odyssey | Cosmos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assets | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Users | 5 | 15 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Storage | 500 MB | 5 GB | 50 GB | Unlimited |
| Email notifications per month | Weekly digest only | 500 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Assets are never a limit
Assets are unlimited on every plan, including Nova. UniAsset will never ask you to upgrade because you have too many assets.
That is deliberate. Asset-count limits punished exactly the behaviour the product depends on — a company importing 500 assets would hit a paywall before experiencing anything useful. Import your whole inventory on day one, on the free plan.
What counts toward each limit
Users are sign-in accounts. People without accounts do not count — a contractor an asset is assigned to only uses a seat if they can log in.
Storage is your unarchived documents, unarchived images, and work order photos. Demo data does not count.
Archiving frees storage immediately, and is reversible. That is the intended way to manage the quota: archive rather than delete, and unarchive if you need it back.
Why warnings fire at 80%
Warnings are early on purpose. UniAsset is designed as an early-warning instrument, not a post-mortem tool. A warning at 100% tells you about a problem you already have.
What happens at a limit
You cannot add beyond it — a sixth user on Nova, or an upload that would exceed your storage. Existing data is untouched and fully readable.
What happens if a subscription expires
An expired subscription blocks creation — new assets, invited users, uploaded files — while leaving all existing data fully readable.
Common mistakes
Deleting files to free storage. Archive instead. It frees the quota, keeps the file, and can be undone.
Counting People as users. Only accounts that can sign in consume a seat.
Waiting for the 100% warning. By then you are blocked. The 80% warning is the one to act on.
Troubleshooting
I can't find Plan & Usage. It is Owner-only.
My usage looks wrong after archiving. Reload. Archiving releases the quota as part of the same operation.
I upgraded but a feature is still locked. Plan is re-read on every request, so an upgrade applies immediately. Reload the page. If it persists, check Settings → Billing to confirm the payment completed — access is granted when the provider confirms it.
I can't add another user. You are at your plan's user limit. Deactivate someone who has left, or upgrade. See Why can't I create more users?.
I don't see any upgrade prompts. They are Owner-only by design.
