What is Incident Mode?

Incident Mode is a reactive truth system. When something goes wrong with an asset — a failure, malfunction, or critical event — you trigger Incident Mode to preserve the exact state of that asset at that moment.

The Core Principle: Immutable Evidence

Once you report an incident, the asset's state is captured and locked forever. This snapshot cannot be modified, deleted, or tampered with. It represents the absolute truth at the moment of the incident.

Asset status and condition

Exactly as it was at incident time

Assignment and responsibility

Who was accountable for the asset

Maintenance history

Last maintenance and next due date

Document validity

Warranty, certifications, licenses status

Location and department

Where the asset was positioned

Recent activity timeline

Last 10 events on the asset

Why Reactive Asset Truth Matters

Preventive maintenance is about avoiding failures. Incident Mode is about defending yourself when failures happen anyway.

The Problem: Post-Incident Chaos

When an asset fails, everyone scrambles. Records are pulled from multiple systems. Maintenance logs are incomplete. Spreadsheets have conflicting data.

Investigators question the accuracy of reconstructed records. Any changes made after the incident look suspicious. Blame spreads faster than facts.

The Solution: Incident Mode

One click captures everything at the moment of failure. The snapshot is timestamped, locked, and preserved. It cannot be edited or questioned.

Investigators receive a complete, defensible record. Your team is protected by documented proof. The truth stands on its own.

How Incident Mode Works

Speed is the priority. No complex workflows. No approval chains. Just immediate evidence capture when you need it most.

1. Asset Failure Occurs

A critical asset malfunctions, breaks down, or experiences an incident that requires investigation or documentation.

2. Click "Report Incident"

From the asset detail page, click the Report Incident button. Enter a title, select severity, and optionally add a description.

3. Snapshot Captured Instantly

The system captures the complete asset state: status, assignment, maintenance history, documents, location, and recent events. Everything is locked.

4. Investigate and Document

Add investigation notes as you learn more. Update incident status. The original snapshot remains untouched while you document findings.

5. Export Evidence Pack

Generate a complete evidence report including the snapshot, maintenance history, document validity, timeline, and investigation notes. Ready for auditors.
