What are Sites?
A Site is an operational or physical boundary where your organization operates — a plant, campus, warehouse, hospital, or office.
Sites sit above Locations. They answer where the organization operates. Locations answer where physically inside that site an asset lives.
Site vs Location

Every Location belongs to exactly one Site. Child Locations inherit their parent's Site.
Why Sites exist separately
Without Sites, multi-campus estates flatten into long location names ("Manchester – Building A – Floor 2"). Sites keep the operational boundary clear so Locations can stay short and hierarchical inside each place you operate.

How Assets relate
Assets are assigned to a Location. Because every Location belongs to a Site, an asset is always under exactly one Site through its Location:

Filtering assets by a Site means looking at Locations under that Site.
Default Site
Every organization starts with a Main Office Site. On the free Nova plan that is your one included Site. See Main Office — the default Site and Site limits by plan.
