How to manage Sites

Sites are managed at Dashboard → Sites.

Requirements

• Available on: All plans (the number of active Sites depends on your plan — see Site limits)
• Roles: Owner, Admin, and Manager can create and edit (same permissions as assets). Archive needs Owner or Admin.

View Sites

1. Go to Dashboard → Sites.
2. Active Sites appear in the Active table with name, address, location count, asset count, and status.
3. Archived Sites appear in a separate Archived section when any exist.

The page header shows how many active Sites your plan allows — for example 1 of 1 active Site used on Nova, or Unlimited active Sites on Odyssey and above.

Create a Site

1. Click Add Site.
2. Enter a Name (required) — for example Mumbai Plant or City Hospital.
3. Optionally add a Description.
4. Optionally add an Address.
5. Optionally add Latitude and Longitude.
6. Click Create.

Site names must be unique among active Sites in your organization.

If your plan has reached its active Site limit, Add Site is replaced by an upgrade path to Settings → Billing. The server also rejects creation if the limit is reached.

Edit a Site

1. Open the row menu on an active Site and choose Edit, or open the Site and edit from there.
2. Update name, description, address, or coordinates.
3. Click Save.

You can rename the default Main Office Site and update its details like any other Site.

Archive a Site

Sites are archived, not deleted.

1. Open the row menu on an active Site and choose Archive.
2. Confirm.

You cannot archive a Site that still has active Locations. Archive or reorganize those Locations first.

Archived Sites do not count toward your plan's active Site limit. After archiving, you may be able to create another Site if you are under the limit again.

There is no hard delete for Sites.

How Sites relate to Locations and Assets

• Create Locations under a Site at Dashboard → Locations (choose the Site when creating a root Location).
• Child Locations inherit the parent's Site.
• Assets are assigned to Locations, so they sit under a Site through that Location.

Common mistakes

Creating Locations without deciding Sites first. On Nova you only have Main Office — that is fine. On Orbit and above, create each operational Site before building deep location trees under it.

Trying to nest Sites. Sites are flat. Nesting belongs in Locations.

Assuming archive frees nothing. Archiving a Site frees a slot on limited plans only when the Site has no active Locations and is successfully archived.

Troubleshooting

I can't create another Site. Check the usage line on the Sites page and your plan at Settings → Plan & Usage. Nova allows 1 active Site; Orbit allows 3. See Site limits by plan.

Archive is blocked. Move or archive active Locations under that Site first.

The name is rejected. Another active Site already uses it.
